Welcome
The IFIP (French institute for pig and pork products), the Sym'Previus scientific interest group and the CNIEL (French dairy board) are pleased to welcome you to the 8th International Conference on Predictive Modeling in Food.
Our aim is to bring together food processors, innovative researchers and young scientists working to enhance food quality and safety with a special focus on the transfer activities towards food business operators. We propose to address the global challenges that predictive modelers and risk assessors are facing in the food quality and safety field.
The conference will take place in Paris, an attractive and easily-reaching place for researchers, industrial and administrators from all countries. With its rich program, the conference will allow fructifying scientific exchanges and transfer activities towards food business operators:
• a 3-day conference with 5 plenary sessions and poster sessions,
• a special day dedicated to food business operators with a software fair,
• a ½ day workshop to discover innovative methods in predictive microbiology,
• a full day workshop on risk-based control measures in food establishments,
• a ½ day presentation of French and international research projects,
• a technical tour to Rungis.
This conference will be the opportunity to describe the situation nowadays, regarding the transfer of knowledge between academics and stakeholders in the food. We hope that the conference will encourage interactions between international leading academics, major food industrialists, senior and junior scientists and help to disseminate the latest research and innovation activities as well as the most important achievements of the field, to industrial applications.
Looking forward to welcoming you in Paris in 2013.

Mariem ELLOUZE, Frédéric CARLIN and Fanny TENENHAUS-AZIZA
